First of all, the system installed without any troubles, X works just fine with 915resolution installed. However, I have some quirky mouse behaviour caused by a aggressively sensitive touchpad: whenever I hit the right edge of the pad, a mouse wheel is emulated which is just too sensitive and gives some errorenous behaviour in firefox (instead of scrolling it goes forward/backward in browsing
history). I simply don't want that scrolling behaviour, but removing
ZAxisMapping in xorg.conf doesn't help here...

Firefox seems to default to using horizontal scroll as back/forward which is kinda dumb (at least it does on os x). Assuming that's what's going on, there is an about:config item to switch it back to sanity: mouse.horizscroll.withnokey.action = 1. Of course, that won't fix the hypersensitivity issue.
