Do an eBay search for "(certance, quantum, seagate) (cp3100*,d2d2t)" and you'll see them pretty low priced. They are built like tanks.
I poked around a bit more, and there's some cases such as: http://cgi.ebay.com/4-BAY-5-DRIVE-SATA-eSATA-PORT-MULTIPLIER-ENCLOSURE-CASE_W0QQitemZ120086563197QQihZ002QQcategoryZ167QQcmdZViewItem It uses the SIL3726 SATA300 Port Multiplier (PM) - does openbsd support it? A quick search on i386.html didn't show it, so probably not. Anyway, more information is at http://www.sata-io.org/portmultiplier.asp just to document this. I also found http://www.icydock.com/product/mb455spf.html - if only someone made a SFF case with this integrated, and a power supply to handle it. Ah well.
