No... Thats what the above quote is trying to tell you.  A -current
src tree is always the newest code; -stable is the original release
with patches.

All sorts of things might have changed in -current, such that 
trying to go backwards could cause a world of problems.  It's
just not worth it.  If you want to take a system back to -stable,
save the important data and re-install.  Don't be clever.
