Hello [EMAIL PROTECTED]
As seen in http://wiki.x.org/wiki/IntelGraphicsDriver, xf86-video-i810
is no more and there is xf86-video-intel driver instead.
New driver supports more chipsets including i965 and i945 (aka
GMA 950 which is frequently used in laptops).
Is such i810 -> intel update for Xenocara planned or not (since we
already have xorg-server 1.2.0 with -current Xenocara)?
Unfortunatly more recent intel drivers have lots of regression on very
popular existing hardware.
We have xf86-video-intel 1.7.4 (the last release before the merge of
the modesetting branch) in the xenocara tree, but it's not built by
default, as it still installs (and advertises itsel to the X server)
as 'i810'. You can build it manually (make -f Makefile.bsd-wrapper obj
; make -f Makefile.bsd-wrapper) to try it on your hardware.
xf86-video-intel 2.0.0 is a whole different story. It requires xserver
1.3 and xrandr 1.2 and it's not ready for general use yet.
