This has little to do with the community and EVERYTHING to do with the lawyers at the SFLC and FSF and the developers that were consulted by them. The linux-wireless developers have been given permission to steal. Not only is this illegal, it is unethical. I have nothing against the GPL or the developers and users that choose that license. You are lumping in honest law-abiding GPL followers with the thieves that steal other people's work. I am speaking only of the SFLC and the developers following their guidance.
