I decided to pump up maxlen to 8192 to see what would happen and I thought it actually has stopped the drops. Unfortunately I was under the impression they had stopped when I believe this was causing the count to not increase:
WARNING: mclpool limit reached; increase kern.maxclusters I've pumped up kern.maxclusters to about 2.5x of it's original value and my drops have begun to increment again along with pf congestion which seems to go hand in hand. net.inet.ip.ifq.len=0 net.inet.ip.ifq.maxlen=8192 net.inet.ip.ifq.drops=1566435 I'd going to double again and I'll report my finding shortly. Again though , this seems over excessive.
