I received the same error on the march 31 bsd.rd. I was going to go home tonight and post info as I was trying to install latest snapshot @ around 11PM PDT last night...
I'm running a snapshot from March 24th on a dell Inspiron 9300 with no issues... I did "bsd.rd -c" and disabled uhub*, thinking that the bluetooth that is in the laptop was the issue, but I still received this issue...
