It would be a lot less hassle in the long run to get three or four USB
drives - you can get a 250GB with enclosure for about $150US. Rotate them
offsite, and problem solved. Rsync makes the process painless.

DVDs are, believe it or not, not as reliable as a HD! In addition, they
are a LOT slower to write, IME [YMMV, of course].
