I fully agree with you there. I think the most vulnerable people will be
the mass influx of Ubuntu users that the last year or two has seen. Mind
you, a lot of them would have migrated from Windows so I think they are
fairly wary of email attachments in that respect. I hope common sense is
not over their heads.

unfortunately this is a very common habit. They send you movies, power
point files and other gigantic, useless things. But, still, they are
friends.
Though, I think using cwm and obsd should be enough. Also, if you're
using obsd, you _must_ be already very well aware of all these things.

I wouldn't say it were dumb or rude to send files as attachments, just to be
wary of them. Unless you can verify what it is, then just don't open it,
really.
Of course, email isn't the best way to transfer files but it is still handy
to be able to.
