hi there,

i have reported this before, and i am fighting
again with this. i think the current scenario
is becoming more and more common nowadays, and
i would like to understand it more:

If the two networks are on the same subnet, then the lii0 interface will
not lose its fixed-entry in the routing table until you ifconfig delete
it away, then route -n flush and dhclient the other interface.

the answer above was by Janne Johansson and nobody
else commented on it. reading the route man page,
this is unexpected behaviour for me and i would like
to know the reasoning behind it. route(8) says:

     flush Remove all routes.

this is clearly(?) not the case.

what is going on in the background?

i will definitely try out trunk, but i am interested in this
case study anyway. or having 2 nics in general. now that
there are priorities, how are cases like having both wired
and wireless at bootup handled? what if the wired and
wireless have different default routes, and so on.

i would appreciate reading up about this more. any pointers?
