There is a chapter on printing in the UNIX Power Tools book: http://www.openbsd.org/books.html#3 Personally, I wish something simple like pdq http://pdq.sourceforge.net would become the new standard for UNIX printing. Unfortunately, the pdq project has been dead for years. :(
