Hi allWe are now busy implementing a redundancy environment using openBSD4.5 with OpenBGPD. In this setting we use a CARP interface to realize a failover between the primary and the secondary route-server. With the virtual IP-address we have to admit, the failover works perfect! But it only works when the total server crashes and the bvirtual IPb is not reachable anymore. Does anyone of you know a solution to monitor a port (the port of OpenBGPD (179)), and if the port isnbt reachable anymore to start the failover instead of starting it when the whole IP address is unreachable?
