I'm currently trying to verify something, because while I know makefiles really
well, the ones for the FreeBSD kernel are too indirect for me, so I can't yet
verify about the twa driver. So far, I'm certain there is no binary blob,
that's certain, but there might be some controller firmware. Lot of those disk
controllers, scsi ones most especially, use on-board micros, custom ones, and
the code for them, using custom compilers, gets small binary pieces. Such
exists in the twa driver, among others, but I don't yet know enough about that
to be public. I'd rather not sling opinions.

If I were good enough at kernel FS and VM code, I wouldn't be asking for the
help, being that there's already a FreeBSD driver, but I'm not, which is why I'm
after the help. I'm already doing a self-assigned task involving CORTEX
processors (the Pandora palmtop, really neat) so my hobby time is really spoken
for.
