Well, ddclient is rather low quality Perl code, but it does its job. Actually, regarding a DynDNS client, the quality of the code is less important than the care it takes to avoid unnecessary updates, such that you don't get banned by your DynDNS provider for performing bogus updates and contributing to useless server load on their side.
