Hi! Just wanted to tell, that since then I've managed to get it working again. The problem was that I've used the XAA accelmethod by default with the radeon driver (with a "ATI Radeon Mobility X1400" in a Lenovo ThinkPad T60). The Xorg.0.log nicely gives me the heads up that it is not supported with this type of chip, and use the EXA accelmethod instead of the default XAA. After making this configuration change in xorg.conf, everything is snappy again. Could it be possible to use the EXA method by default with these radeon drivers so there won't be any problems like this?
