I think i run 4.6 on the same computer but i have different harddisk adapter, try to set Processors -> Processor Performance -> Proc Performance States: <Disabled> http://kuutorvaja.eenet.ee/wiki/IBM_System_x3550_M2 And also i use single cpu kernel, i hope i may help though i am by no means expert on those ibm machines or openbsd kernel.
