i am finding out that this is a curious situation.

the said issue happens on a virtual openbsd box in vmware.
when i finish at work, i 'suspend' it by closing vmware.
when i start the image again, i update the time with rdate.

system time catches up immediately, and other programs
do as well (e.g. gkrellm) but with partial success: they
are always one hour behind. if i explicitly restart
gkrellm, it picks up the correct time.

could this 1h difference be becuase of daylight saving?
