-current, 4.5/4.6/4.7-stable updated since around 4/4/2010 (or for
those using the american date format, that's 4/4/2010), or with patches
(see the errata).

dell bioses for these controllers seem to turn on the write cache
for the array, I get about 90mb/s writes on a new SATA R210 with mpi
(though some people mentioned problems with R210, so caveat emptor).
whereas other vendor bioses seem not to turn on write cache (hp's
bios doesn't, i was getting ridiculously bad performance until
i turned it on with the vendor tool, after which it was fine,
and from the other report it seems like sun do the same).
