Water by itself is pretty harmless to most electronic components - as long as there is no power present. If it is thoroughly and completely dried before
power is applied, there's unlikely to be any issues.

Even the heat of the drier is unlikely to be a problem. Consumer electronic components are rated for storage up to 85C, a drier will never get that hot,
under normal circumstances.

Static generated in the drier could be a problem, but this is only likely if the drier runs too long after the clothes are already dry (which could also
cause overheating).

Funny thing is I still haven't killed one by washing machine or dryer, and
I've sent many through the wash/dry cycle.
