Does this always happen when the laptop is not connected to an external power source? (i.e. running on battery) The acpi in this machine is weird, at least in the tz zone, as there are a lot of indirect entity references, and interpreting a reference as an actual value usually yields a huge value, leading to the behaviour you are seeing. I thought I had fixed them all - at least I can no longer reproduce this on my 530 - but my acpi-fu is weak. > I had dualboot with NetBSD and IIRC in dmesg I saw some notes like > 'ignoring, value is nonsense' (not exact text but the meaning was > like this). We could probably ignore physically impossible values in acpitz, but it is more important to fix the bug for good. Miod
