Tips of bash on command substitution ?

Hi,
        Suppose last command was "cd cd" , and i've remembered that it could be
replaced to "ls ls" simply with "^cd^ls^" , but only first entry was
replaced , thus i finally got "ls cd"

But i want "ls ls" , anyway to work it out ?
