In that case you could try something like this in your mysql.conf
(Haven't tested, so I could be way of in my assumptions in query_alias):
query_alias     select COALESCE(destination, REPLACE(maddr, '@',
'_')), ? as maddr from mail_forwarding where source=maddr;
query_userinfo  select uid,gid,maildir from mail_user where
REPLACE(login, '@', '_')=? and server_id=6;

and for smtpd.conf:
accept for domain <vdomains> userbase <vusers> virtual <aliases> deliver
to maildir
