yes, the refactor has supposedly left -extras intact so you should be
able to replicate any setup you currently have working.

the next issue being 6.4 in October / November, it depends on how much
progress has been done with smtpfd by then.

there is a chance we have some poc by then, there's a chance we're too
close to release and prefer to skip it.

it's too early to know what we'll have by the end of this summer
