Hi Mark,

This is not a direct answer to what you are looking for, but maybe it
can help.

I usually do my filtering for mailing lists based on List-Id message
header. Like for this one, that's: List-Id: <misc.opensmtpd.org> and
move them to a different folder, outside of INBOX. But you want them all
in INBOX, so how about tag them with a different color perhaps?

For example, in Thunderbird, you can do that in Tools -> Message Filters
-> New -> Filter name: [e.g. opensmtpd-misc] -> Match any of the
following -> Customize -> Add -> (enter here header name, i.e. List-Id).
Click OK in this window. In Filter Rules window then choose [List-Id]
[is] [misc.opensmtpd.org]

and bellow:

Perform these actions:
[Tag Message] [choose you color]

In Settings -> General -> Tags, you can customize colors or add new
ones.

I suppose something similar can be done in other mail clients as well.

Hope this helps.
