Hi BetaRays, Note that it should be possible to set up an opensmtpd on your Raspberry Pi > that relays emails to your main server too, if that’s something you would > prefer. > (This can be done with the relay action.) >
Thanks for the suggestion! I considered that, but I will be switching ISPs in the weeks/months to come, so I thought it would be easier for now to play around on my main test server and switch over, rather than setting up multiple smtpd instances. For now it's complicated enough just setting up one :) I think what mya be happening is that your rule doesn’t specify "for […]", > so the default is "for local", and wherewithal.nl is not considered to be > a > local name: did you try adding "for domain wherewithal.nl" or "for any"? You suggest that omitting a "for" clause will use a default "for local"; this is what some other responses are suggesting as well. You're probably right that this is the behavior (it explains what I see), but it is not documented in the man page of smtpd.conf, at least for v7.6.0. No mention is made of a default "for local" in case no for clause is present in the match rule. Reading the man page as a newcomer to smtpd essentially suggests that match from any action "whatever" .. should always match. Thanks, Sidney
