I wonder if anybody has tested both drivers (bristuff vs mISDN). Any info on which one works best? I’m curious in terms of system performance but also in ease of configuration and cooperation with asterisk.

BriStuff is not exactly ISDN compliant, expecially in Italy we had MANY problems and to avoid very bad figures i rewrote our whole PBX to include mISDN support.

Maybe ISDN in Italy is different from Germany.

Major Problems with BriStuffs:
* some minor ISDN incompatibility for Italy
* even when configured correctly it was unable to call outside or to receive calls
* sometimes the Telco remove L1 power and Bristuff is unable to make calls
* sometimes echo
* it is a patch that change libpri and zaptel: its an hack not a stable solution * i was never able to put at work their Bristuff+PRI card (used Digium+ZAP and Beronet+mISDN instead)

All this problem appears with single BRI installation expecially outside big cities.

mISDN minor problems or missing features:
* with Bristuff i can enable debug on screen and see ISDN message in a very nice way with mISDN is not very clean and the output is too much "vertical" making hard to debug * i cannot address a single channell of a single port expecially for monitoring outgoing lines: i cannot use mISDN like bristuff doing: hint,Zap/1
* AOC support seems missing
* missing GSM card, i'm forced to use external GSM gateway
* they have to make a cheap 1 BRI card around 60€ so i can stop using stupid ISDN modem around 24-27€ that are very low quality if compared with their 2 or 4 BRI card :))))

Hope this feedback helps :)
Antonio
