Dear Friends, My Freedom Above Fortune Radio Show, which broadcasted from 2:00 pm through 3:00 pm Pacific Time on Thursday, December 11, 2008, featured Colin Jackson, who, together with his wife (and former IRS Revenue Agent) Sherry Peel Jackson, have endured tremendous sacrifices on the American public’s behalf. Sherry, you may recall, worked for the IRS for 7-8 years and after leaving the agency learned of the illegal manner in which the agency administers and enforces the federal income tax system ( _www.sherrypeeljackson.com_ (http://freedomnewsroom.com/mailer/redir.php?id=112&st_id=12&email=larmelt...@aol.com) ). After many years of very public whistle-blowing and activism, including an appearance in the movie “America Freedom To Fascism” ( _www.freedomtofascism.com_ (http://freedomnewsroom.com/mailer/redir.php?id=113&st_id=12&email=larmelt...@aol.com) ), the IRS and U.S. Department of Justice targeted Sherry with a massive harassment campaign, including execution of a search warrant at her home (while her young children were present) and an eventual criminal prosecution for misdemeanor “willful failure to file a tax return” charges. Colin Jackson described how Sherry was convicted on those charges, largely based on the testimony of IRS personnel, Sherry’s former colleagues, who claimed, falsely, that they never spoke to Sherry about her federal income tax inquiries. Being caught by surprise that these former colleagues would stoop to the level of lying under oath about their previous contacts with Sherry, she was unable to gather the proof that these agents were lying in time for the jury to consider such proof. Hence, in the eyes of the jury, Sherry was made to look like she had given false testimony about her meetings with the IRS colleagues when, in actuality, it was the IRS agents who had given the false testimony. Colin has been doing his best to take care of their two children since Sherry’ s sentencing last February, in which the judge gave Sherry 12 months for each of the four misdemeanor counts TO BE SERVED CONSECUTIVELY, resulting in a 48 month sentence. After receiving this sentence, Sherry wrote an article illustrating just how unjust it was (see excerpt below). I hope you will consider helping Colin, Sherry and their children this holiday season with your prayers and, if possible, a donation, large or small, to help Colin keep the Jackson household running while Sherry suffers through this devastating injustice. Colin, a firefighter, is struggling to make ends meet on one paycheck, given Sherry’s situation and he is having tremendous difficulties. Colin and their two children have to travel 6 hours each way to visit Sherry. Please pray as often as you can for the Jackson family. We are also asking for you to pray for the IRS agents who gave the false testimony, asking that God might stir their consciences. (Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr) was given one year of community service and will be sentenced to one year in prison. His sentencing date is scheduled for March, 2009. This 27 year old man was on probation/house arrest for felony gun charges and was arrested on felony drug charges in 1998 and unlawful possession of a firearm. During this time, he violated probation by trying to buy automatic weapons and silencers. "Machine guns and silencers pose serious dangers to our community," U.S. Attorney David Nahmias said. "The last place the machine guns and silencers should be are in the hands of a convicted felon�. Even after this violation, T.I. was allowed to leave jail to attend Easter Service at the Georgia Dome with the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Sherry Peel Jackson, on the other hand, has never owned a firearm, has never violated probation and sits in jail with a four year sentence for not filing tax returns. The same U.S. District Court of the 11th Circuit and the same U.S. Attorney, David Nahmias, that is allowing a felony gangster rapper to run around town after violating, what should have been at least a 10 year sentence, has Sherry, with no prior record, sitting in jail for four years.
