Dear Larry,
A ballistic missile launched from a foreign enemy would take 33 minutes or less to reach the U.S. target it was programmed to destroy. Our enemies are attempting to stockpile arsenals that threaten our freedom and prosperity. North Korea and Iran are the most prominent, but this also includes Russia, China and other nations that have missiles capable of killing Americans in very large numbers and threatening our allies.
The time has come to revive the strategic missile defense system that America uniquely can develop, maintain, and employ for its own defense and the peace-loving world's security.
33 Minutes: Protecting America in the New Missile Age aims to do just that by highlighting the disastrous consequences of a nuclear explosion on American soil. 33 Minutes, produced by The Heritage Foundation, opens our eyes to the reality that, eight years after 9/11, Americans still remain vulnerable to a missile attack. Shot in high definition, 33 Minutes features breathtaking and dramatic footage as well as exclusive interviews with world leaders including Lady Margaret Thatcher, Attorney General Edwin Meese and others.
33 Minutes is your go to source to better understand the threats our enemies pose and what we need to do now to protect America.
As a freedom-loving American, Larry, now is the time to show your support for missile defense. Here are three ways you can take action to help your neighbors, your community and your elected officials better understand missile defense.
- Host Your Own 33 Minutes Screening: Invite members of your community, your neighbors and your friends to watch 33 Minutes and discuss the need for missile defense. We'll give you everything you need. Our 33 Minutes screening kit includes a DVD of the full-length documentary, a poster to advertise your screening, feedback cards for you and your guests to comment on the film and plenty of 33 Minutes brochures and pens! Click here to sign up to host a screening.
- Call Your Members of Congress: Tell your elected leaders in the House and Senate that it is the government's responsibility to provide for the common defense, and that starts with protecting the country from its biggest vulnerability: a nuclear missile attack, which could happen in just 33 minutes. If our enemies have ballistic missile capabilities, we should have missile defense technologies.
- Write a Letter to the Editor: Submit a letter to your local newspaper editor and tell them while the government has failed to build a missile defense shield that protects us, our enemies are ramping up their capabilities. Experts say Iran could have a nuclear weapon capability within a year, and its ballistic missiles can already target many of our allies in Europe and in the future could target us here at home. North Korea continues to brag about its stockpiles of nuclear weapons-grade plutonium, and they tested a long-range missile that could carry a nuclear warhead all the way to Alaska or California.
I hope you will help us advance this important project to keep America safe. Thank you again for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Edwin J. Feulner, Ph.D.
