MITAB Users,
A new MITAB 1.6.3-beta2 is now available on the download site. This new
beta fixes one issue that's been found in beta1 with the optimized
spatial index.
Once again, I would appreciate your help to test this beta with the
optimized spatial index on various types of datasets and report on
whether the files produced by this new version of MITAB work fine in
MapInfo or not.
The simplest way to test is to use the tab2tab program to convert a file
using the -o option (enabling the optimized spatial index, that's
important since that's what we want to test). e.g.
tab2tab myfile.tab newname.tab -o
Then verify that newname.tab loads and works fine in MapInfo.
I have not included links to this beta on the MITAB website, you'll have
to use the following links to get it:
