Here's what I did so far.
Downloaded additional mitab-1.7.0.zip (even though document
http://mitab.maptools.org/ said MITAB-1.7.0-WIN32.ZIP: ...
is "all you need to use the C API on Windows").
- Ran the makefile.vc (yet I am more interested in C++ than VC but
by this point I just stop thinking)
- this generated mitab_i.lib which was mentioned in the docs, as
well as mitab.lib which was not mentioned.
- I tried to follow your advice to add the folder \Mitab 2\mitab-
1.7.0\mitab into
Tools -> Options -> Projects and Solutions -> VC++ Directories (Show
directories for Library files) -
added in the folder name that contains the .lib
Building solution still gets:
1>Linking...
1>mitab.dll : fatal error LNK1107: invalid or corrupt file: cannot
read at 0x280
