websites, DSL services, web consulting, and web design. By the middle of 2002,
Swift Communications had outgrown 2 of its upstream providers and moved
directly into becoming a Tier 2 Internet provider, with 1.4 gbps Capacity. In
merely a couple of years, our bandwidth usage has more than quadrupled to over
12 gbps sustained, and our network has extended over 1000 miles. Currently
Swift Communications is a major player in the communication industry, providing
Transport, Transit, Colocation, Hosting, Web Design, Software Development, IT
Consultation, and many other IT related services.
Swift Communications is currently seeking candidates for IT engineers to join
our technical support team located in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Our IT Engineers will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of
the hosting division, maintaining over 6000 servers. They will be working
together with other teams, providing customers with all their technical needs,
including Monitoring, Data Backup/Recovery, Automation Scripting, Software
Development, Web Design and various System Administration tasks.
This candidate must have at least 2-3 years of practical IT experience, with
focus in system administration, programming, and/or web design. They must have
practical understanding and exposure to production UNIX and Windows systems,
including Linux, BSD, and Windows 2003. The person is required to have deep
understanding of how OS works, be able to install needed daemons and programs,
know how to program, be able to develop websites with perl/php, know how to use
photoshop, and be able to troubleshoot issues in a timely manner. Applicant
must have excellent and professional working attitude, be able to adapt
quickly, be a fast learner, be reliable and able to communicate fluently in
English through email; Applicant must also be willing to learn and improve
oneself, not be offended by customers' content and nature of business
(including adult content, politic, race, nationality, and religion), as well as
be able to endure the IT working environment, especially the
"uncommon" t
