Hi Feri,

I am no real expert in deploying Linux applications, but here`s my idea:

Use the ldd command on your executable. Since you are using MITK 0.10, I
suspect you have built the "MainApp". ldd will list all required shared objects
of the MainApp. Collect all the listed libraries and the executable into one
directory and add them to an archive. Once you have unpacked the executable and
the libraries on another machine, you just have to tell the MainApp where to
find the shared objects. Since they are in the same directory, just type:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
and then
./MainApp
will hopefully bring up your MITK app. If there are any Linux experts on the
list any corrections are welcome.

Cheers
Michael

Betreff: [mitk-users] how to build portable mitk package

Dear All,

I'm Ferenc Kovacs. I'm a Szeged University student and I have chosen Mitk 0.10
version
for my thesis, because I need a sophisticated GUI for visualising my algorithms.

I could use mitk by installing and compiling CMAKE, ITK,VTK, QT under LINUX.
But I would like to show my project to my teachers without forcing them to have
all these things.
So I need to build a portable package what they can run on their linux.

How can I do that?
Can anybody help me with that, or just give me some advice?
(With a detailed description.)

Thanks,

Feri
