have you had a look into classes mitkMicroBirdTrackingDevice and
mitkMicroBirdTool in the IGT section (mitk\Modules\IGT\IGTTrackingDevices\)?
An overview onto IGT is given at http://www.mitk.org/wiki/IGT. Because we
currently have no tracking system from ascension available for testing we
cannot ensure that it is fully functional right away. A year ago a colleague
implemented it successfully on a Windows machine.
Contribution is always possible via the bugtracker
(http://www.mitk.org/wiki/BugTracking) where you can attach patches. See
