Hi Keshav,

do you have the org.mitk.planarfigure bundle activated? Have a look at

mitk/Modules/Bundles/org.mitk.planarfigure/src/internal/mitkPlanarFigureActivator.cpp

If you do not use this bundle, you have to activate the planar figure 
rendering yourself by calling

RegisterPlanarFigureObjectFactory()
