If you provide a name that has not been previously added to the preferences, the iterator returned by the find call returns the end of the structure, which results an assertion failed runtime error on accessing the iterator (it->second==0). I was not sure under what topic to report it on bugs.mitk.org (as there are topics covering openCherry, but not Blueberry).
