a short site note here: for nice interactive camera tracks a space mouse (6DOF) such as the 3d space navigator from 3dconnexion is quite handy (~80€ personal edition )!
With it you can interact with the VTK camera in 6D and thus do all movement changes that you like.
But in order to use that feature one needs this extra device and we would have to add the feature again to MITK (see my last post).
I would also contribute to that in my free time once a design decision from the MITK board is made so I can do it the right way. ;)
Flight mode doesn't do the full job because it accelerates and stops all the time (its meant like that) and in some cases the picking especially in a volume rendered scene is error prone so it doesn't lead to the intended camera movement.

Generally, please try and keep the conversation on the
mailing list ("reply all"), so other users can profit from
answers as well.
What is the mail system message, when you try to post your
other mail? Did you add large attachements? These can be
blocked by the demon.
Regarding your requirements. As I said, there currently is
no interaction for achieving this kind of moving the
camera
along a structure (apart from zooming/rotating manually).
That said, if you are a developer, you can move the camera
along a specific path (for example defined by points set
by
a user).

Thanks for your quick reply. I just tried Flight mode,
it is interesting but it only kind of zoom-in. What I need
is going through a channel to see the inside surface.

clicking into the 3D render window to change your point of
view to a specific point or structure. On the other hand

can rotate and pan the image and zoom into it to follow
