you are right, the current master uses VTK 6.0 and the 2013.12.0 release
is still on VTK 5.10.1.
The current master is not backwards compatible with VTK 5.
We currently do not have any plans for a 2013.12.1 release, sorry.

Hi Miklos,
I started some adaptions [1], it builds fine on linux and all core
tests
pass. Please note the branch currently uses git in the superbuild
instead of downloading a tarball. As soon as ITK 4.5 is released
we will
probably switch to it as default in the superbuild.
