Hi Matt,

we are using the mitkContourModel(Set)s to represent Dicom RT Structure Sets in
MITK. The interactive segmentation in MITK is also using the ContourModel to
represent the contours drawn by a user. So the "super-nice" way of creating
contours is kind of already there ;)
The only limitation right now is that the contour itself is thrown away after
is was written into the binary image. We have already plans how to change that
in the near future.

Regrading the PACS pushing/pulling: As Marco said our main goal for the first
step was to support the reading and visualisation of Dicom RT data. For
writting at least Structure Sets we do not have concrete plans right now. But I
am sure this will become important for us as well in the near future.
As far as I know there is not really a dicom rt writer available yet. I have
found an ITK implementation for a structure set writer [1] but I am not sure
what the status of this contribution is right now.

So to sum it up: We are definitely interested in writing dicom contours but
right now we focus on the support for reading and visualisation.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi Marco,

will this include super-nice ways of creating contours, and pushing/pulling
them to PACS like an image?
Thanks

M
