Hi Florian / Matthias
AFAIK we didn't have any problems compiling MITK 2014.03 with Visual
Studio 2012 (Express) in 64bit mode.
I didn't fully understand why you are trying to compile with a newer vxl
version. As you wrote, the MITK superbuild as well as the external ITK
build work fine, and both ITK builds provide a working vxl distribution.
Best,
Sascha

Hello,
I'm sorry I lost track of this problem, because I just deactivated the
treat warnings as error flag.
Now I stumbled upon it again while compiling MITK.2014.03.
I can reproduce it by doing the following.
MITK superbuild: works fine
MITK superbuild + external ITK: fine
MITK superbuild + exernal ITK with external VXL: breaks
So vxl seems to break the MITK build, although at the problematic lines,
there is no reference to VXL at all.
One example error:
2>j:\mitk_source\mitk-2014.03.0\core\code\datamanagement\mitkBaseData.h(359):
error C2220: warning treated as error - no 'object' file generated
(J:\MITK_SOURCE\MITK-2014.03.0\Core\Code\Rendering\vtkMitkRenderProp.cpp)
2>j:\mitk_source\mitk-2014.03.0\core\code\datamanagement\mitkBaseData.h(359):
warning C4267: 'return' : conversion from 'size_t' to 'unsigned int',
possible loss of data
(J:\MITK_SOURCE\MITK-2014.03.0\Core\Code\Rendering\vtkMitkRenderProp.cpp)
2> mitkOverlay.cpp
Configuration: 64bit
MITK.2014.03 + ITK 4.6 + vxl git
The stable of vxl does not support VS12 thats why we used the git version.
Regards
Florian
