discussed the options you listed below and concluded that we would prefer a
non-member function solution (1).

Hello mitk-users,
Would the team be interested in adding code to MITK Core that makes it easier
to work with both MITK and ITK point sets? If so, what would be the preferred
implementation? Some options:
(1) Adapter classes and functions (a la mitk::CastToItkImage,
mitk::ImportItkImage)
(2) Adding a constructor to mitk::PointSet that takes an itk::PointSet as an
argument
(3) Adding a method such as mitk::PointSet::GetItkPointSet(int t = 0)
(4) Something else?
