Hi Marco,

you can switch it on during the cmake configuration. Just search for “volume” 
and add a checkmark in the GUI, you can find more information here [1]. Also,

I assume you want to “visually filter” using volume rendering, s volume 
rendering does not modify the data itself. Take a look at the 
volumevisualization plugin and the preset transfer functions to get an idea [1].
