It is good to hear that managing the project with QtCreator works for you now. Regarding the exception: Are you adding some flags when starting the application from QtCreator? Have you tried debugging to find which option Poco is complaining about? Presumably there is some flag added which cannot be correctly interpreted in mitk::BaseApplication.
