Hi Patricia,

yes, it is possible but a bit techy. There are two ways to do it and depending
on your use case you may prefer one over the other.

A) Convert right in the MITK Workbench and modify the path a little to show the
area

- Open the Properties plugin
- Select the path in the Properties plugin
- In the Property List combo box, select "Base data" instead of "Data node:
common" (default)
- tick the "closed" check box that appeared
- go back to the Measurement plugin
- Move one of the control points of your path just a tiny bit to trigger the
plugin to also show the area

B) Save the path, modify it with a text editor and load it again

- Right-click on the path in the Data Manager and choose Save...
- Save the path as .pf file
- Open the .pf file with a text editor (it is just an XML file in disguise)
- Pretty much at the beginning of the file you find the property with the key
"closed" and its value is set to "false". Change the value to "true" and save
the file.
- Open the .pf file in MITK again.

Best,

Stefan

Betreff: [Extern] - [mitk-users] Measurements ineinander überführen

Guten Abend,

Vielen Dank.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Patricia Kornacker

Good evening,

Is it possible that if you outline a structure with the "Path" tool, you can
subsequently display this outline as a "Polygon" to obtain the area value? Or
is there an alternative in MITK to calculate the area using the outlined
perimeter?

Thank you.

Best regards

Patricia Kornacker
