Hey Guys,
I've looked for a post like this, and since I found none, I started this
thread.
I'm Bruno Buccolo, 21, from Brazil. I'm on 4th year of Computer Science on
Unicamp University (lots of GSoC activity going around here). I'm currently
involved as development manager on a open source project from our
university, which is a learning management system, in which the UI is very
important since e-learning is often used on low-budget (and thus low
computer acquantaince) context. UI Design is one of my passions, along with
electronic music (especially house and trance) so this project seems to be
in the intersection of what I love. I've used Mixxx before and it was great,
one of the things that bothered me was the layout, which I'll try to improve
if all works well. I spin ocasional college parties using Traktor Pro, Xone
1d (which I'll soon test with Mixxx) and a 4chan-mixer.
I'm still reading the thread about Skinning Engine change and doing some
research around the pros/cons of every choice.
Regarding the skills needed, C feels natural to me, but I'll be digging into
C++ and Qt through the following weeks.
The Skinning Engine Prototype Project sounds really fun, altough hard?, I
feel like I meet the ambitious student who loves user interface design
requisite.
I mean, analyzing the user interface of all those DJ programs will be a true
blast! I still haven't figured out who might mentor this project, but If
you're out there I'm looking forward to talking to you!
I'll be on forums as Buccolo, and also idling on #mixxx.
Anyways, please to meet you guys, you can reach me at

Cheers!
