I'm not too worried about proprietary hosting. Even if we wanted to we
couldn't "fork" our launchpad site since the data is locked in to
Canonical's servers. If the code itself is hosted in a free-software VCS
then I think that is good enough. It would be great if git had built-in
support for issues and wikis but it doesn't so we have to pick some
web-hosted service to interact with that data. Launchpad is a good fit for
our workflow and I think we should stick with it for issues /
specifications.
The goal of this project is to make the best DJ software on the planet. IMO
we can still do the world good even if our git repo has a web interface
that isn't free software.
