What does a gapper effect do? Writing an effect has a certain amount of
boilerplate and testing it is tricky right now, but the inner loop is
about as simple as it gets:
for (int i = 0; i + 1 < numSamples; i += 2) {
// left channel
pOutput[i] = YourCodeHere(pInput[i]);
// right channel
pOutput[i + 1] = YourCodeHere(pInput[i + 1]);
}

it can be tested with)
