Just to add to what Albert is saying, the binary that's on the website is
Debian i386 architecture, the AMD64 linker doesn't know about i386
libraries, so in order for the linker to resolve it you'd have to install
the "ia32-libs" i386 compatibility packages at the very least to get
anywhere... even then it might not work...
Since Mixxx is a breeze to build on Debian derived systems like Xandros and
Ubuntu, it ought to be pretty easy to build on Debian also. I've
personally built it on Ubuntu/AMD64.
Since I wrote both sets of instructions on compiling on the SVN Repo page,
I'm going to recommend you follow the second set of instructions called
"eeePC" which applies to the 1.6.0-SVN beta, *don't* use the "AMD64"
instructions which were for 1.5.0/Dapper/AMD64.
