OK, last night I had the interface lock up in SIMPLE waveform
mode. I also have an erratic but frequent audio pause after CUE,
next message for that.

I've not had mixxx ever run for more than an hour without
a lockup...  :-(

It happened within 5 minutes of startup. I'd made few enough
steps that I was more or less able to re-create my actions a
second time, but it did not lock up a second time.

mixxx was setup thusly: due to crashes I set options, quit so
that options are saved, then re-invoke to experiment.

* playmore stop both players
* simple waveform
* ALSA (main on M-Audio 2496, headphones on mobo audio)
* Herc Control mp3 attached and working

# uname -a
Linux oOo 2.6.22-14-rt #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Tue Feb 12 09:57:10 UTC 2008 i686
GNU/Linux

mixxx 1.6.0b2 checked out latest last night
compiled with djconsole_legacy=1 optimize=3

$ sudo mixxx

Loaded track into player1
set initial cue point, by ear, right before first downbeat in song
started playing
Loaded track into player2
set initial cue point

experimented with player1 CUE; on 4th, 8th beat, hit CUE; repeatedly.
See next post: re audio delays.

Let player1 play til end (auto-stop).
PLAY player2
right-click track from play list, loaded player1
INTERFACE LOCKUP

Tracks played fine, Herc control surface fully
functional. Clicked gnome/X goaway box, got "not
responding..." clicked force.

I then repeated the above, as best I could (eg. who knows how
many times I hit CUE or turned jog wheel), problem did not
repeat, except audio delay.
