Don't give up dude! I too thought I would never make any headway
into the code, having less C experience than you and not even
recognising some of the C++ syntax I encountered (template classes
etc) but I managed to work out enough to contribute. I think it
seems more daunting than it actually is once you start to find
your way around where everything is (and realise that you can
ignore 90% of it and just concentrate on what you're trying to do :)
