It might be like a MIDI bug we just fixed, where an invalid entry in the
MIDI mapping XML file would cause a crash, but the backtrace would be
the only way to tell.

I did some googling and ALSA Modular Synth (AMS) might be able to do the
trick. It can host LADSPA effects and control them via MIDI (as far as I
can tell), so you would use JACK to route Mixxx's output through that
and set up some MIDI mapping in AMS to control the plugins. I'm sure
there's other options here besides AMS though. Jackrack sounds like what
you're looking for but I don't think it supports MIDI.
